USCIS Announces Fee Increase and Other Changes Effective October 2, 2020

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a final rule today which will adjust fees for several immigration applications and petitions, including many employment-based cases, starting on October 2, 2020. In addition to the changes in fees, there will be other changes affecting employment-based cases.
These changes include:
- New I-129 Forms for each visa classification, with different fees per classification
- H-1B fees will increase from $460 to $555 (not including the education/training fee and anti-fraud fees)
- L-1 fees will increase from $460 to $805
- O-1 fees will increase from $460 to $705
- TN and E-3 fees will increase from $460 to $695
- Decrease in filing fees for Form I-140 Immigrant Visa Petition from $700 to $555
- Increase in filing fees for Form I-485 Adjustment of Status Applications filed with Form I-765 Employment Authorization and Form I-131 Advance Parole from current bundled fee of $1,225 to $2,270
- Increase in filing fees for Form I-539 from $370 to $400
- Extension of time for adjudication of Premium Processing requests from 15 calendar days to 15 business days
- Elimination of the $85 biometric fee for most case types (will be rolled into the application fee)
- Increase in filing fees for N-400 Naturalization from $640 to $1,170
